Abstract:

Abstracts are invited by 11 December 2009 for oral and poster presentation at the conference on the following topics:

    * Technology - computational: new modeling approaches and model discrimination
    * Technology – experimental: new high-throughput biology
    * Top-down systems biology: data integration & network reconstruction for a coarse-grained model of the cell
    * Bottom-up systems biology: modeling individual cell subsystems (includes Dynamics of signal transduction pathways)
    * Microbial systems biology and human health
    * Microbial systems biology and biotechnology (including synthetic approaches)

A topical and comprehensive programme will discuss the current state-of-the-art in systems biology of microorganisms and explore future developments and promises. The conference will bring together:

    * World-leading scientists from all the disciplines that participate to systems biology;
    * Experimental biologists who have embraced systems biology to unravel specific biological questions;
    * Mathematicians, bioinformaticians, and engineers who develop methods to reduce the complexity of biological networks and grasp the underlying principles of their organisation;
    * Young scientists from all disciplines
